Frost DK DPS

2-Handed Frost
you fight in Unholy Presence
Single-target rotation you:
* Keep diseases up before all else
* Use your Rime procs with Howling blast as second priority
* Obliterate to use Death Runes and Frost/Unholy Pairs
* Blood strike to use Bloodrunes (and create Death Runes)
* Froststrike to consume Runic Power
* Horn of Winter/Empower Rune weapon if none of the above available
* Use your killing machine procs with Obliterate if at all practical
=> Diseases Up > Rime procced Howling Blast > Obliterate > Bloodstrike > Froststrike > Horn of Winter
Multi-target you:
* Use Howling Blast to consume all Frost Runes and Death Runes
* Frost strike when possible
* Bloodstrike to consume all Blood Runes
* Death&Decay > Plague Strike for all Unholy Runes (switch targets after each plague strike)
=> Howling Blast > Bloodstrike> D&D/Plague Frost Strike > Frost Strike
As a Frost DK, you only have three cooldowns - Army of the Dead, Raise Dead, and Pillar of Frost. Maximizing their use is essential to maximizing one’s dps:
* Pillar of Frost+Raise Ghoul -> usally you want to raise your ghoul directly after casting this (so it benifits from the buff to), also note that Pillar of Frost and BloodTap line up perfectly so you should never be skipping Pillar of Frost due to lack of runes
* Army of Death: will not taunt a boss, but will taunt adds -> use directly before the pull on bossfights usually, but consider the boss
Utilities you (can) bring to the party:
* Interrupts (free if you spec into endless winter with the floater points in tier 2 of frost)
* A Snare via Icy chains (root if you specced chillblains for some reason)
* An AoE root via Hungering Cold (free if glyphed, ideal for those O-shit, we pulled more then we wanted moments)
* A ranged silence via Strangulate
* A get that pesky caster/ranged mob at a distance over to tank utility via deathgrip
* +10% melee and ranged attack speed buff to whole raid/party
statwise you look for strength >>> hit to meleecap/expertise dodgecap > haste > mastery > crit > agility > hit to spellcap
=> gems you use Bold/Fierce/Etched gems for respectively Red/Yellow/Blue slots
=> BIS gearlists see EJ guide (prehc, preraid, raid)
